The Thursday Night Pause
If you tuned into CBS this Thursday night expecting to catch up with Elsbeth Tascioni, you likely noticed a change in the schedule. Elsbeth, the fan-favorite crime dramedy starring Carrie Preston, is taking a one-week hiatus on October 29, 2026. The series, which has been airing weekly since its October 8 premiere, is stepping aside to make room for a special Halloween-themed broadcast of the hit comedy Ghosts.
What’s Next for Season 4?
The good news for viewers is that the break is brief. Elsbeth will return with Episode 4 on November 5, 2026. As the season progresses, viewers can expect a deeper dive into Elsbeth’s personal life while she continues to apply her signature unconventional methods to solve complex crimes. Recent reports suggest the upcoming mystery will center on the investigation into a country club president's murder.
Star-Studded Guest Appearances
Beyond the murder investigations, Season 4 is shaping up to be a major highlight for casting. CBS has confirmed a high-profile lineup of guest stars set to join the series throughout the season. Audiences can look forward to appearances from:
- Simon Helberg (The Big Bang Theory)
- Molly Shannon (Saturday Night Live)
- Lucas Hedges (Manchester by the Sea)
In Season 4, Carrie Preston returns as Elsbeth Tascioni, the brilliant yet unconventional consent decree investigator who uses her unique perspective to make unique observations and corner brilliant criminals.
