A Shift Toward the Agentic World
Huawei recently concluded its annual Huawei Connect 2026 conference in Shanghai, centering the event around a singular, ambitious theme: 'Advancing the Agentic World.' Unlike previous iterations of the conference, which focused on foundational connectivity, this year marked a definitive pivot toward systems capable of autonomous decision-making and direct integration into core enterprise production workflows.
For Huawei, the goal is clear: moving AI from theoretical pilots to large-scale, industrial-grade implementation. To achieve this, the company revealed a full-stack infrastructure suite designed to provide the compute, storage, and networking power required for massive AI models.

The New Hardware Foundation
The centerpiece of the hardware announcements is the Atlas 960E SuperPoD. Huawei describes this as a new-generation AI computing platform, characterized as the industry’s first NPO-based (Near-Package Optics) SuperPoD. It is designed to work in concert with the upgraded TaiShan 950 SuperPoD to provide the massive capacity needed for intelligent applications.
Complementing these compute solutions are two critical pillars:
- UnifiedBus Architecture: An interconnect framework designed to scale up to one million NPUs within an 'agentic SuperCluster'.
- OceanStor M900: A specialized storage system built to handle the heavy input/output demands of AI-driven workloads.
- Stellar AI Fabric 2.0: A networking solution that claims to reduce network deployment costs by 30%.
Beyond Hardware: The Agentic Software Layer
Infrastructure is useless without a way to deploy it. Huawei is pushing its 'AgentArts' enterprise agent platform, which is already reportedly serving over 100 enterprises. By combining these software tools with its new AI Cluster Service (AICS), Huawei is attempting to provide a complete, end-to-end environment for companies to build and manage their own AI agents.
Our new SCALE partner system is designed to help partners lead intelligent transformation from individual pilot phases to large-scale adoption.

What This Means for the Future
The messaging from Huawei Connect 2026 suggests that the 'Agentic' era is moving from buzzword to infrastructure requirement. By pushing for greater cooperation between governments, academic institutions, and businesses, Huawei is positioning its stack as the backbone for a world where AI systems don't just provide data, but actively make decisions and drive productivity in real-world production environments.
