A Vision for Viksit Bharat 2047
On India’s 80th Independence Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation from the Red Fort with a definitive vision for the next two decades. Central to his speech was the 'Viksit Bharat' (Developed India) goal for 2047, supported by a new strategic framework dubbed 'Saptadhara'—a seven-stream blueprint designed to accelerate the country's economic and technological transformation.
Beyond grand strategy, the announcement carried immediate practical implications for India's youth, with the government committing to large-scale upskilling in high-growth technology sectors.

The 'Saptadhara' Blueprint
The 'Saptadhara'—or the seven streams of strength—serves as the engine for India's growth trajectory. These areas are identified as the core pillars that will render the nation self-reliant (Aatmanirbhar) and globally competitive. The seven streams include:
- Manufacturing
- Farming
- Technology
- Gatishakti (Infrastructure connectivity)
- Raksha Shakti (Defense strength)
- Green Energy
- Soft Power
Empowering the Next Generation
Perhaps the most significant announcement for the technology sector is the government's pledge to provide formal AI training to 10 million (1 crore) youth. This initiative aims to bridge the digital skills gap and ensure that India’s young demographic is prepared for an AI-driven global economy. Additionally, the government announced free online coaching programs for students preparing for various competitive examinations, aiming to democratize access to educational opportunities.
Today, from the ramparts of the Red Fort, I call upon the nation to embrace 'Shakti Ki Saptadhara'. These streams will make India Aatmanirbhar and developed.
— Prime Minister Narendra Modi
