A New Kind of Home Invasion
In the world of high-concept science fiction, few premises feel as grounded and terrifying as the one in Netflix's latest release, *The Last House*. Directed by Louis Leterrier, the film centers on the Delgado family, whose comfortable, mid-century life is shattered when they are suddenly sealed inside their own home with no clear exit. As resources dwindle and a mysterious external threat looms, the film shifts from a domestic drama into a pulse-pounding battle for survival.

From '11817' to The Last House

A Director’s Vision for Claustrophobia
Leterrier describes the film as a direct challenge to the concept of a 'safe haven.' By stripping away the security of a family home, the film forces its characters to confront the fragility of their environment. The score, composed by Yair Elazar Glotman, is designed to mirror the characters' mental state as the walls—both literal and metaphorical—begin to close in.
This is an ordinary family’s worst nightmare, pushing them to their limits to protect each other and exposing the fragility of security — and the desperate fight to reclaim it.
— Louis Leterrier, Director
